Les Marches
Overview

Between 1600 and 1650m above sea level, slightly away from the road to the resort sprawls the hamlet of Les Marches overlooking the Champsaur Valley.


The hamlet is within walking distance from the station for a ride on the balcony mountain range. It is possible to make a loop to and from the arrival of the station (see below).


Make a detour through the narrow streets of the village to discover the Saint Roch chapel, probably dating from the late eighteenth century but completely renovated in 2007 in association with the Heritage Foundation.


You may also wish to follow the alpine meadows to the "Forest des Marches", which has a dozen cottages farmhouses dependent hamlet families went there once during the summer months in order to keep the animals. The houses are publishers fied according to a plan identical ground floor to the barn floor for housing, attics and cellars.

Le Forest des Marches


Duration : 2h30  -  Ascent : 250 m -  Distance : 6,1 km This is a circular route along the terraces overlooking the Champsaur valley with opportunities for an insight into the local culture. From the Ferme des Cabrioles aux Marches, go up the track around several hairpins bends until you reach la Chabanne and then to the Estaris forest.  Then take the path with a steep start. The path widens when you reach the Clot Aumaillé and you continue along a bit further towards the resort. Don't miss the Merlette turn off: a path leaves the track taking you back to Plautus and then les Marches. This circuit can also be done from the resort (from the Muande residence).

Chamois, bouquetins, marmottes, rennes, lamas, ânes, daims, chevaux falabella, perdrix, faisans, etc… Ouvert tous les jours de 10h à 19h. Tarifs : 5,20€/enfant, 6,90€/adulte, sur réservation pour les groupes. Les chiens et autres animaux domestiques ne sont pas admis.

Accessible à pieds ou en voiture depuis la station. Ferme-découverte, vente de fromages de chèvres fermiers et goûters à la ferme. Vous pourrez découvrir les animaux, la fabrication du fromage, l'agriculture de montagne. Pour visiter, prévoyez des chaussures de marche. Tarif libre.
