Are the routes passable in winter?

The markings remain in place all year round. Depending on snow conditions, the routes numbered 1 to 5, outside the ski area, can generally be done all year round. So you can train for the star trail 😉

Are these routes accessible with dogs?

Only routes 6 and 7, which pass through the heart of the Ecrins National Park , are off-limits to dogs.

Are there courses for beginners?

The routes in green have little change in altitude (less than 300m positive change in altitude), making them ideal for beginners.

The mountain pastures of Orcières Merlette are full of exceptional routes, alternating between fairly technical high altitude sections, rolling sections through the hamlets and superb singles skirting the lakes and torrents of Orcières.

Departing from 3 “gateways”: Base de loisirs, Prapic and Orcières Merlette, the Espace Trail d’Orcières is a real invitation to discovery for everyone, from beginners to expert runners. Finally, for mountain runners who like to push themselves to the limit, Orcières organises the Trail des Lacs, a weekend of races with a route for every level. It’s up to you…!
